We had early tee times starting at 9:09. The temperature was 78 degrees, but the day was going to get hotter.

The last time we were on a regular golf course during a BJG / NGL event was the F&U Championship on 6/26/22. That's 35 days between events.

This was also the first time since the Pretender on 4/24/22 that we had all 15 Golfers playing together.

It is always nice to see the hopes and dreams on each Golfer's face before the round actually starts.

Front Nine:

Cody – 39

Dave – 45

Jason – 45

Rey – 46

Bryan – 46

Adam – 46

Joe T – 47

Jake – 49

Juan – 51

Rock – 52

EJ – 52

Joe – 54

Alex – 56

Dan – 61

Dustin – 64

There were some good scores coming off the front nine, but there were also some bad ones.

Cody was the MAN with 2 Pars and 2 Birdies.

Adam’s putter was on fire, sinking three long-distance putts in a row.

Rock was playing well with his 52, and that was with a 10 on the scorecard.

EJ and Alex were playing well, and could finish the day with a personal best score, if they did not turn into a dumpster fire.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Joe could not find a club in his bag that would do what he asked of it, and he felt fortunate to finish the front at 54. Joe still had hope for a good back nine score.

Dan had a couple of 9s, and Dustin was having his own troubles with a 10, and an 11 on his scorecard.

The hardest hole was the 1st Hole (Par 5) which played 2.3 strokes over par. The 6th Hole (Par 4) played the easiest at just 0.8 strokes over par. As a group, we averaged a score of 50 on the front nine.

Back Nine:

Cody – 40

Rey – 42

Dave – 46

Bryan – 46

Jason – 48

Rock – 48

Jake 50

Joe T – 53

Juan – 53

EJ – 55

Dan – 55

Joe – 56

Adam – 58

Dustin – 63

Alex – 67

The temperature was now around 91 degrees. As I look at my watch I realized that it is after 2 pm, we had just played golf for over 5 hours.

Cody continues to dominate with 5 pars but Rey hasn’t given up, in fact, he is playing great bogey golf.

Dave and Bryan continue to battle, tying on the back nine.

Dan shaves 6 strokes off his front nine score, but the damage is already done.

Rock, without another 10 on his card, take 4 strokes off his front nine score.

EJ doesn’t allow his dumpster to catch on fire and finishes with his best score of the year.

Jake finds a big 11 on his scorecard on the back nine.

Adam adds 12 strokes to his front nine score with a 9 and three 8s on his scorecard.

Joe continues to have a bad day with his 3 putts. At one point he needs a 4-putt to get a 4-footer to drop. It was so bad the other Golfers in his group were calling him “Joe No Love” because the course nor the Golf Gods would not give him anything.

Alex and Dustin have to call the fire department after scoring two 8s, a 9 and a 10. This is the first time that we have seen a real crack in Dustin’s game this year.

The hardest hole on the back nine was the 14th Hole (Par 5) which played 2.4 strokes over par.

The 15th and 16th holes (Par 4s) were not much easier, playing at 2.2 & 2.1 over par.

The easiest hole of the back nine was the 13th Hole (Par 3) which still played 1.2 strokes over par.

There are only three rounds left in the regular schedule, and mathematically, no one is out of the running.

We have 2 Majors left plus the Valhalla. If you can manage to win all three events that would be 16 points.

Next on the schedule is the American Freedom Open which will be played on August 14, 2022, at Westover Golf Course. It does feel odd to play this event 42 days after the 4th of July, but the 2023 schedule should line up much better then 2022.

Respectfully,
