Yes, I know the blog is very late, but I had to work on my accidental deck. Make sure you read the end of the blog for upcoming events !!!
To start the day, Jason presents me with a new Driver and Putter cover for all the good work I do here at BJG. Thank you, Jason, I appreciate it.

Joe and EJ are the 3rd Group. Bryan arrives, but he must wait for Dan and Rey. We start making some side bets on who will show up.
Of course, we are pushed out early. Joe and EJ leave Bryan on the first tee box waiting for Dan and Rey.
After finishing the first hole, Joe looks back and sees Bryan still waiting.

Joe T convenience Joe to have Bryan play with his group. Joe calls Bryan, but Dan is now there, and they are teeing off.
I called Rey, but no answer… another No Call / No Show. I think, wow, Hockey has started, Basketball has started, I wonder if Baseball has started… Wait, baseball is getting ready to finish...

I appreciate that Dan showed up (on time, I might add) because he had the Legend’s Trophy.
Front Nine:
Joe had a couple of Pars, 5 Bogeys, and 2 Triple Bogeys.
Bryan was playing well up to the 6th hole, he even had a birdie. But over the last 4 holes, Bryan went Quadruple Bogey with 3 Triple Bogeys.
EJ was playing ok for the first 3 holes, but then he hit a wall with two holes scoring 5 over Par and 3 Triple Bogeys before getting back on track.
Dan was having an off day but, no worries, Dan was only playing nine holes...

Front Nine Scores:
Joe – 36 (Even) / 47
Bryan – 43 (7 Over Par) / 52
EJ – 44 (8 Over Par) / 62
Back Nine:
With his handicap, Joe was up by 12, and while Joe was giving strokes away like they were candy, he was probably never really in danger of losing this match-up.
With his handicap, EJ was rolling along in 2nd place.
By the time we get to the 13th hole, Bryan had a 6 and two 8s, and he was cold, as were all of us.

While we are waiting on the 13th hole Tee Box, Bryan started talking about the slow play and how he had something going on, and he still had to make a stop on the way home. Joe and EJ start messing with Bryan, telling him he should just go home now because it's not like he can win, plus who knows what time we will finish. And it's really cold.

For a couple of minutes, Joe and EJ think Bryan is going to pack it in, but instead, Bryan starts playing better golf.
Bryan finishes the next 5 holes with 5 Bogeys. Bryan was not giving up. Good on you, Bryan, that is the sign of a true competitor.

On the 17th hole, Joe hits a beautiful 2nd shot that leaves the ball a couple of feet from the pin. Joe pushes the putt and just misses the cup. Joe then tries to tap in from the wrong side of the flag, but he hits the ground with the putter. Instead of making a great birdie, Joe finishes with a bogey.
At the 18th hole, Joe is at 74, with Bryan and EJ all tied up at 81.
Joe hits his tee shot and it goes right, over the water. You can hear the ball banging around the trees. All Joe can do is shake his head, knowing he will now need to add 2 strokes.
Bryan has a nice tee shot while EJ goes a little right, a little short, and there is the splash. EJ is happy that the water splash is only going to cost him one stroke (and a ball).
Back Nine Scores:
Bryan: 41 (5 Over Par) / 50
Joe: 44 (8 Over Par) / 56
EJ: 42 (6 Over Par) / 60
Final Score / Actual Score
1st Place: Joe – 80 (8 Over Par) 103
2nd Place: Bryan – 84 (12 Over Par) / 102
3rd Place: EJ – 86 (14 Over Par) 122
I must tell you, I found it to be the funniest thing to not only be the 9th best Golfer in BJG but that I also get a trophy.

Reminder: The BJG schedule is set in February and approved at the Winter Meeting. In case you just met me, I do not like to make any changes during the BJG season unless I have to or I need to. Joe T is doing an excellent job with getting tee times. If Joe T needs help, I am sure he will ask.
Upcoming events:
Fed Up Cup Finals will be played on October 16th (next Sunday).
Congratulations to Cody, Jason, Adam, and Alex. Right now, we only need one tee time, but Joe T will make 3 tee times on Sunday or Monday, hopefully at Southampton CC. Please let me know if you ARE playing next Sunday.
The Rider Cup will be played on October 30th. The Rider Cup is a Team Event and the two last-place BJG Golfers are the Team Captains. This year’s Captains are Rey and Rock. Please let me know if you ARE NOT playing in the Rider Cup.
The Winter Classic Championship is very late this year and will be played on November 13th at Franconia Golf Course (If they are still open). The backup course will probably be St Annes since they never close early.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Columbus Day weekend.

Respectfully,
Broken Joe
