As we were coming up to the Scramble, we had 9 BJG Golfers and Harry. With 3 tee times, that left 2 open spots.
Joe T had his friend Chris take one of the spots. and on Saturday, Bryan was the last-minute, final addition.
Bryan wanted to compete in the Scramble, but it was too late to re-do teams, and I didn’t know how well Chris played golf, so the answer was a big "No".
Sunday was a beautiful day for golf, and I was surprised that the course wasn’t packed with Golfers, but that was ok with me. I also found out Sunday morning that the tee times were just a little too late for Harry to join us because he had to work that afternoon, and that Juan was bringing a “friend”.
Most of us were there early, and as usual, Franconia pushed group one (Joe, Joe T, Chris, and Bryan) out early. Juan, Dan, and Dave still were not there yet, but they had plenty of time.
The good part of the 2 Man Scramble is that you get two chances at the same shot.
Of course, the hard part is that you are playing as a team, so there is always that pressure to play well, and that is as it should be.
Group one gets to the 2nd green, and Joe T runs down to the 1st tee box to collect more money.

Juan & Tom win $50 each. Dave (& EJ) win the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin ($20 each).
For some reason, Dan & Dave thought the Scramble meant “Bring Your Kids to Golf Day”. Had I known, I would have put Dan and Dave together.
Yes, Jason was having a rough day, but hearing “Daddy, look at me” for 5 hours could not of been helping anyone's game.

Hell, from what I saw in the clubhouse, I think Dan & Dave were tired of hearing “Daddy” too.

Meanwhile, Juan lost his partner, Harry, and thought the Scramble was like a house party when they say BYOB. Juan took that as BYOP or “Bring Your Own Partner”.

Joe T did take their money so they were "officially" in the competition.
I probably don’t need to say this, but: if you need extra family time, please don’t combine that with an adult golf event. At the very least, tell people so they can chose not to play.

AND if your assigned partner can’t play, you're just there to have fun unless I have time to re-do the teams.

All in all, I had a good time even though Joe T had to carry our team. For 3 out of 5 Teams it was a dead even match, which is the way it is supposed to be.
Sunday is the Woods Shootout. That blog should be out tomorrow.
Just so you know, we did have to change the Woods Shoot Out from Ledges to Airway. That blog will be out on Thursday.
Chris, who has the best plain cheese pizza? Inquiring minds still want that answer.
