It was a beautiful day, with a sunny sky and low humidity. Finally, the rain stopped, but Franconia can hold water on parts of the course.

When I arrived, there were a lot of golfers milling around and on the putting green.  It looked like there was a tournament going on.  When I saw that, I knew it would be a long day.

Rey is on vacation, and EJ has a medical issue. As EJ likes to say, “More Free Points.”

Front Nine:

1st Place:  Mike – 31 (36)

2nd Place:  Rob – 33 (42)

2nd Place:  Dustin – 33 (51)

4th Place:  Steve – 34 (44)

5th Place:  Adam – 36 (40)

6th Place:  Joe – 37 (50

6th Place:  JT – 37 (42)

8th Place:  Joe V – 38 (40)

8th Place:  Matt – 38 (47)

10th Place:  James – 39 (46)

11th Place:  Joe T – 41 (53)

Mike tears up the front, shooting five under par.  Rob, Dustin, and Steve also shot under Par on the front.  Dustin’s new driver is really working for him.  The scores are once again tight, as they should be.

Steve, Rob, and Matt made birdies on the front. On the other side, Matt has an 8, and Joe T has two 8s.

The easiest hole on the front was the Par 3, 5th Hole, which played just half a stroke over par.  The hardest hole on the front was the Par 4, 3rd Hole.

As a group, we shot Par, 36 (45).

 Back Nine:

1st Place:  Rob – 32 (41)

1st Place:  Matt 32 (41)

3rd Place:  Joe T – 33 (46)

4th Place:  Mike – 38 (43)

4th Place:  Dustin – 38 (56)

4th Place:  James – 38 (46)

7th Place:  Joe V – 39 (41)

8th Place:  Steve – 40 (51)

8th Place:  Adam – 40 (44)

10th Place:  Joe – 41 (54)

10th Place:  JT – 41 (47)

Matt and Rob go shot for shot on the back to shoot four under Par. Joe T pulls himself together and makes the comeback. Again, the scores are tight, so tight that just one stroke can make a significant impact on where you finish.

There are five birdies on the back, with Matt, James, and JT getting one each and Adam having two.

Dustin scores a 9, while Joe and JT have major issues with the 12th hole, scoring 11 and 9, respectively. Joe also manages an 8 on the 13th hole, and he knows his day is over.

Final Scores:

1st Place:  Rob – 65 (83)

2nd Place:  Mike – 69 (79)

3rd Place:  Matt – 70 (88)

4th Place:  Dustin – 71 (107)

5th Place:  Joe T – 74 (99)

5th Place:  Steve – 74 (95)

7th Place:  Adam – 76 (84)

8th Place:  James – 77 (92)

8th Place:  Joe V – 77 (81)

10th Place:  Joe – 78 (104)

10th Place:  JT – 78 (89)

Rob plays great golf to take the win. Mike, Matt, and Dustin worked hard all day to catch Rob, but it was Rob’s day. The scores are close, including three sets of tie scores.

Except for Rob, we each needed just one good bounce or one less putt to move up a spot.

JT wins his money on the front nine Closest to the Pin, and James wins BIG money on the back nine Closest to the Pin.

Matt once again claims his place at the top of the Leaderboard, but Rey is just 4 points behind him.  Remember, there is only one more regular season round: our final Major.

Mike moves from 5th to 3rd, with Joe and EJ each falling one spot to 4th and 5th.  Joe is just 4 points back from Mike and EJ is just 3.5 points from Joe.

Joe T, Rob, and Dustin remain in the 6th, 7th, and 8th spots.  Rob is just 1.5 points behind Joe T.

Adam moves up a spot, and Steve moves up two, so they are tied for 9th place.

James falls from 9th to 11th, but it is more concerning that James will not play in the Final Major.

JT remains in 12th Place, and Joe V is in 13th, but Joe V is only half a point from the 12th spot.

It is going to be a wild ride at our Final Major, the BJG Championship, on August 25th, 2024.

Respectful,

Broken Joe
