Hurricane Henri has washed out Broke Joe Golf's final Major....

ree

After I had just written about some great storylines to end the 2021 BJG regular season, Hurricane Henri decides that this is the year to visit New England. It had been 30 years since a hurricane last came to New England.

After a year of watching Jon and Matty Ice play some great golf, and spend most of their time at the top of Leaderboard, as we watched Cody and Joe fight their way back to the top of the leaderboard, with Joe just .7 points from the regular-season win, and as we watched Adam and Dave slowly but steadily make their way into contention and to have their own chance at the Race to Big Y (Dubai) Championship.

At the other end, Chris drops out because injury. Chris knows he cannot compete in the FedUp Cup and allows another, more worthy competitor to take his spot, only for us to fully realize that Tim and Jake would only be 7.5 points and 16 points from the 12th, and final spot in the Playoffs.

Yes, all of that for not as Henri has left us without proper closure, but that is life.

This should be another reminder to “play better golf” and not leave your fate to Mother Nature.

Yes, I could probably come up with some absurd way to bring back the drama but it would be manufactured, which is just another word for “unfair”. The regular season ended when Franconia closed the course.

Before I made the call to end the 2021 BJG regular season, I was hearing a lot of concern about the rain and what I should do. The rule is and always will be: If the course is open, we are playing. Those that show up and play will get points. Those that do not play or quit during play will receive a DNP or a DNF. It really is that simple.

I have decided to give all BJG members, except Chris and Harry equal points – 57.5. That still leaves Joe 0.7 points short of his goal and it makes Cody the "2021 Race to Big Y (Dubai) Champion". Congratulations to Cody.

At the other end of the leaderboard, Juan claims the 12th and final spot as Tim and Jake watch their hopes to make the playoffs disappear.

Race to Big Y (Dubai) Final Standings

Congratulation to the top 12. The FedUp Cup Playoffs 1st Round will start on Sept 5th (Labor Day weekend).

For those of you that have missed the cut, you still have the “Legends of Tomorrow (Losers of Today) the race to 9th Place, and new this year, we have the “Lonesome Loser”, the Battle to Not Be Last. Both of these events will be going at the same time and the same location as the 2nd round of the FedUp Cup, the AMC Championship.

Respectfully.
