In just 24 days, Broken Joe Golf will be back in full "swing".

The committees have finished their work and we now have their final draft recommendations. The membership will vote in just 10 days, on Sunday, March 14th, 2021.

2021 Final DRAFT BJG Handicaps:

Cody: +15

Dave: +6

Jake: +4

Bryan: +4

Tim: +4 (New Guy)

Harry: +1

Joe: 0

Joe Willie: 0

Chris: 0

Rock: 0

Rey: 0

Juan: -7

Dan: -7

Adam: -11

Dustin: -11 (New Guy)

Nic: -14

Matt: -26

Jon: -29

EJ: -29 (New Guy)

Too be honest with you, I think some of these guys are getting an extra stroke, but as Chris said, if you are worried about one stroke, maybe you should get some lessons (Hey, I know a guy).

As you can see, we only have 3 new Golfers that will be fighting for the chance to be the "2021 BJG Rookie of the Year". This will also have some effect on fees but we can talk about that later.

2021 Final DRAFT Schedule:

ree

It is funny that no one noticed that we were originally playing the 2nd Major, "The Fathers and Uncles Invitational" on Memorial Day weekend.

Lucky for you all, my wife has some keen eagle eyes. You know, the eyes your wife uses when you can’t find something in the refrigerator.

So, the GOOD NEWS is that we are off on Memorial Day weekend.

BAD NEWS, we play back to back weekends on 4/25 (Chubby Classic) and 5/2 (The Pretenders), AND we are OFF Back to back weekends; they are 6/13 (Off week) & 6/20 (Fathers Day) PLUS the first round of the Fed Up Cup is on Labor Day Sunday (Sorry).

This OFF back to back Sundays could be a good place to add something "off the books".

More GOOD NEWS is that you have Columbus Day weekend off.

More BAD NEWS is that the Winter Classic is on Halloween. Good thing we play golf during the day which frees you up for “trick or treating” that night.

Is there a better way to run this schedule? Maybe, but after 5 attempts, I need a break.

2021 Final DRAFT Rules:

According to Dave, the Rules Committee is good with these rules. However, we will be discussing some of them in detail, just to make sure we are on the same page.

After last year’s debacle, I’m hoping Dave will have one of his other committee members talk for his group. Good thing there is Rule 19…

2021 Final DRAFT Fees

For the most part, the fees are a simple process. With the “End of Season Awards Dinner”, the fee is $65.00. My suggestion would be that your first payment of $32.00 is due at the Winter Meeting and the second payment is due by 6/6/21 at our 2nd Major, the F&U Invitational. Just my two cents and I'll leave the rest up to the committee and the membership.

I think this could be a good time, having dinner and drinks, maybe invite the wives and other family members, and then give out some fun “end of season awards” before we take the long winter off (except for Fanduel Ding Ding).

Without the “End of Season Party” the fee would be $25.00 each. One of the reasons the cost is high is because I had to buy TWO Misters Green Jackets. The BJG Green Jackets are being discontinued and this gives me at least two years to find a replacement jacket.

I was thinking that we could use Christopher Tavern Banquet Room at 360 Cooley Ave, Springfield, MA for the BJG Winter Meeting. The cost would be $15.00 per person for wings and beer. Just a thought.

Right now, we are still scheduled to be outside at Bryan's parent's lake house. The Lake House address is 530 Griffin Rd West Suffield, CT

Let me know what you think.

Respectfully,

Broken Joe

Commissioner
