The first two weeks of the BJG season have been rough but hopefully, we can settle into a normal routine.
The 2021 Misters Tournament will be the 4th edition of the BJG Mister Tournament and the first of our four major golf championships to be held in 2021. The Misters will be played on April 11th at St Annes Country Club in Feeding Hills, MA. This is the same date as the PGA Masters final round.
The winner of the “Misters” will receive the prestigious BJG Green Jacket and a trophy. Past Champions are:
2020 – Joe
2019 – Dave
2018 – Bryan

Tee Times and Grouping for MAJORS are decided by the current “Race to Big Y (Dubai)” Leaderboard with the exception that the last year’s winners will always lead us off the tee box.
There are 760 points for this event. First place is worth 76 points while 20th place is worth 4 points.

Coordinating Instructions:
1. Dave will coordinate a meet with Adam, Harry & Tim before we start, to have a quick discussion about the Rules since they missed the BJG Winter meeting.
2. Dan will be collecting the BJG fees before the first tee time.
3. Joe T will collect money for the “Closest to Pin” ($3.00) and “Longest Drive” ($2.00).
4. I will present the Pan Am Trophy to Team Cody (Cody, Matt, Matt T, and EJ) at 10:45 near the first Tee Box.
5. I will bring the 2021 BJG Packets (Schedule, Handicaps & Rules). EJ will bring the Pan Am Trophy and the “Closest to the hole (11th Hole) & the Longest Drive (13th Hole) with him.
6. As part of the first group, I will have the “Closest to the Pin” and “Longest Drive” materials.
7. As part of the last group, Nic and Tim will pick up the “Closest to the Pin” and “Longest Drive” materials and bring them back to the clubhouse. Nic and Time will turn over the “cards” to Joe T and he will pay the “Closest to the Pin” and “Longest Drive” winners. Remember, the longest drive must be in the fairway.
8. In cases of a tie during a Major, there will be a single sudden-death playoff (with no more than 3 extra holes played). If we are still tied, then there will be a putt off. If it is too late or the golf course is busy, we will just have the putt off. The Rules Committee will handle the tie.
NOTE: Not since 2016 have we been this generous with the handicaps, and it is my hope is that this will bring about more competition. However, handicaps are based on POTENTIAL. I, along with the Handicap Chairman and Committee, will adjust handicaps based on improved potential.
Right now, it looks the Golf Gods have determined that we will once again be wet. Sunday's forecast is cloudy with occasional rain showers. High 59F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%. Unlike what happened at the Pan Am golf event, tee times will NOT change.
Forewarned is Forearmed
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
