The 2022 Woods Shootout

In 2021, as the the final day of the AT&T Bryon Nelson was being played, I thought that BJG should name one of our events with the same spirit as one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Of course, the choice was obvious…

Tiger Woods has been the most dominant player for most of our lives, much like Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordon, and Wayne Gretzky, just to name a few.

Tiger Woods, for most, if not all of us, is the embodiment of who each of us, as a golfer, strives to be during each round of golf.

Some of us are like the "young" Woods, wanting to crush the competition each and every week.

Some of us are like a "troubled" Woods.

Some of us are like a "broken" Woods.

But most of us are just "In The Woods"… a lot.

The "2022 Woods Shootout" will be played on June 12th, 2022 at Airway Golf Course in West Suffield.

In the spirit of Tiger, we should all wear his signature Sunday outfit - Red Shirt with Black Shorts or Pants.

Since Jon is our 2021 Woods Shootout Champion, he will lead us off the first tee box.

Joe T called Ledges on Monday morning, but they wanted him to pre-pay for all 16 golfers, and that was never going to happen. For the next couple of hours, the race was on to find another golf course. Joe T called a bunch of different golf courses, but they were either having a tournament or had a late tee time.

At the end of the day, we found Airway Golf Course at 1070 S. Grand St, West Suffield, CT. Price is $37.00 for 18 holes. The downside is that they only take CASH for food and drinks.

I thought West Suffield was close to Enfield, but I guess I got that wrong, my bad. With that said, for me, Airway is almost the same distance as Cold Springs or Rolling Meadow.

Closest to the Pin is on the 10th Hole. Longest Drive is on the 11th hole.
