The 2023 BJG Championship

We have come to the final regular season match-up, and our Final Major of the year, the 2023 Broken Joe Golf (BJG) Championship.

The BJG Championship will be played at Agawam Municipal Golf Course in Agawam on 8/6/23.

The BJG Championship is worth 225 total points. 45 points for first place and 5 points for last place.

For the winner, it could mean a big difference in where you will be seeded in the first round of the Fed Up Cup. If you win your first-round match, you move on to the 2nd round of the Fed Up Cup. If you lose, you will join Cam at the “Legends of Tomorrow / Losers of Today”.

If the Fed Up Cup started today, the seeding would look like this:

Cody vs Joe T

Adam vs Dustin

Alex vs Joe

Jason vs EJ

As I said in the last blog post, a lot is going on at the BJG Championship.

1. Will we identify the winner of our final Major, the BJG Champion

2. We will award the “Big Check” to our Race to Big Y (Dubai) Champion and the $50 Big Y Gift Card

3. We will have the seeding for the first round of the Fed Up Cup

4. We will identify our two President Cup Captains

As for all Majors, Groupings are done by the Leaderboard.

Group One – 8:40 am

Cart 1: Cody & Adam

Cart 2: Alex & Jason

Group Two – 8:48 am

Cart 3: EJ & Joe

Cart 4: Dustin & Joe T

Group Three – 8:56 am

Cart 5: Cam & Bryan

Cart 6: Rey and Rock

I had a few different choices for the Groupings, but after careful consideration, I felt it best to keep the 8 BJG members together that are fighting for the first-round seeding. Cam has been mathematically eliminated from the first round of the Playoffs if Joe T or Dustin finishes the round.

The Closets to the Pins are the 5th Hole and the 15th Hole. The 15th Hole is worth $80.00 !!!

There are only streams to worry about at Agawam so there will not be any BJG Drop Zones.

Right now, it looks like Sunday will be a beautiful day for a round of golf.
