The day starts with Jason sending a text at 5:26 a.m. and everyone is wondering if Jason is at the golf course early again.
A little later in the morning EJ and Joe have breakfast with Jake…

The Front Nine:
Team Cody - Cody tries to carry the rest of his team on the front nine because they just play like crap. Joe is having the same issues that he has had all year, EJ always has an issue for at least 9 holes and Cam hasn’t swung a club in 42 days. Even Cody’s drives start to go a little right as he tries to do too much.
Team Cody can only manage one birdie on the front nine on hole number 2.
Team Adam or Team USA, as they refer to themselves, has the same problem with Dustin, as Dustin has not seen a golf club since the Legends of Tomorrow on August 27th.
Team Adam manages two birdies, one on the 4th hole and the other on the 8th hole.
Front Nine Scores:
Team Adam: 34
Team Cody: 35
Back Nine:
EJ starts to play much better golf on the back nine offering Cody a lot more support.
Joe finally supports his team on the 16th hole by putting the only ball in play, while everyone is in the woods. Cam is still having some issues making contact with the ball.
On the back 9, Team Cody makes birdies on holes 11, 16 and 18.
Team Adam continues to roll the same as the front.
Adam and Jason have been competitors most of the year. Adam won the Misters, The Woods Shootout, and the Championship of the World. Jason won the Fathers & Uncles Invitational, the Victory or Valhalla, and the BJG Championship. At the end of the regular season, they were tied for 2nd place. Jason won the first round of the FedUp Cup, and Adam won the 2nd round of the FedUp Cup, with Adam winning the final Tour Championship.
Now Jason and Adam were Teammates and as it turns out, they are really good Teammates.
On the back nine, Team Adam gets birdies on holes 11, 14 and 16. They also got the only bogey of the day on the 13th hole but were able to bounce back.
Back Nine Scores:
Team Cody: 32
Team Adam: 33
Final Scores
Team Cody: 67
Team Adam: 67
Yes, that’s right, we have a tie. While we milled around trying to figure out what to do next, I let the Captains choose their fate.
Adam and Cody decided that they would have a playoff hole.
Adam and Cody try to get on the Par 3, 10th hole, but we are too slow. It is then decided that they will play the 1st hole. The Captains also agree that Adam would get a one-stroke handicap on this hole.
Cody crushes his drive but has problems with his 2nd shot and finishes with a 5. Adam or "Steady Freddy" as he has been called most of the year, also finishes the hole with a 5. With Adams one stroke handicap, TEAM ADAM / Team America wins the 2023 Presidents Cup.

After the round, we continued to hang out at the clubhouse. Team Adam gets their picture taken, and then Jason heads for home as the rest of us continue to talk.
Dustin asks me where I get the trophies and I tell him the story about how the company sends me reminder emails when it is time to buy things like the Ruder Cup / President’s Cup medals… AND THEN IT DAWNS ON ME THAT THE PRESIDENT’S CUP MEDALS ARE STILL IN MY BAG…. My apologies to Jason. I can only blame my depressive state of mind after the loss. Jason, your medal should be on its way to you.

Once again, Congratulations to Team Adam for a well-deserved victory.
The Winter Classic is scheduled to be played on October 29, 2023. Right now, we are looking to play at Ledges in South Hadley.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
