Back in 2022, as the final day of the AT&T, Bryon Nelson Championship was being played, I thought that BJG should name one of our events with the same spirit as one of the greatest golfers of all time.
Of course, the choice was obvious…
Tiger Woods has been the most dominant player for most of our lives, much like Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordon, and Wayne Gretzky, to name a few.
For most, if not all, golfers, Tiger Woods embodies who we strive to be during each round.
Some of us are like the "young" Woods, wanting to crush the competition each and every week.
Some of us are like a "troubled" Woods.
Some of us are like a "broken" Woods.
But some of us will probably just be "In The Woods"… a lot.
The "2024 Woods Shootout" will be played on May 19th, 2024, at Agawam Municipal Golf Course, 128 Southwick St, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.
There are 91 Total Points available this week. 13 Points for 1st Place and 1 Point for last Place.
In the spirit of Tiger Woods, we should all wear his signature Sunday outfit—a Red Shirt with Black Shorts or Pants. For each Golfer who wears the Red and Black, I will award one point for Camaraderie.
Previous Woods Shootout Champions are:
2022 - Joe
2023 - Adam (1)
Tee Times and Groupings:
Group One: 9:04
Cart One - Joe (24) & James (15)
Cart Two - JT (11)
Group Two: 9:12
Cart Three - Rey (22) & Joe V (4)
Cart Four - EJ (36) and Matt (18)
Group Three: 9:20
Cart Five - Rob (18) & Mike (10)
Cart Six - Stephen (21) & Dustin (36)
Joe T has the week off, and Adam has a scramble in Athol, so this is your chance to close the points gap.
Weather: Sunday looks cloudy, with a low of 54 degrees and a high of 71 degrees. There is a 24% chance of rain and a NE wind at 8 MPH.
The Closest to the Pin on the front nine is the Par 3, 121-yard 5th Hole, and on the back nine, it will be the Par 3, 128-yard 15th Hole.
Group One will drop off the BJG equipment, and Group Three will bring the equipment back to the clubhouse.
Good luck on Sunday, and try to stay out of the "woods."
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
