This is Bryan’s second consecutive year winning the Pretenders. Not only did he win but his score was in the 80’s, even with his BJG handicap. The good news is that Bryan already has the trophy so he doesn’t have to wait for it.

Front Nine:

Joe Willie – 41

Harry – 42

Cody – 43

Jake – 44

Rey – 45

Bryan – 47

Steve – 50

Juan – 50

Rock – 50

Dave – 51

Dan – 56

Adam – 60

Joe Willie has been a "Man on Fire" ever since he was given a minus 1 BJG handicap, and we were hit with a worldwide pandemic.

ree

We also saw six out of 12 players finish the front with scores in the forties.

Steve, Juan and Rock are half way to shooting 100.

Dave shoots a 51 which we don’t see very often.

With Jon, Matt, and Nic out, Dan and Adam bring up the rear.

Back Nine

Bryan – 38

Cody – 45

Jake – 49

Rey – 49

Dave – 49

Harry – 50

Joe Willie – 51

Steve – 51

Adam – 51

Juan – 53

Rock – 61

Dan – 61

Bryan smokes the back nine by shooting 2 over par, and some people are asking the Handicap Committee to review Bryan’s BJG handicap.

ree

Cody shoots 45, but with a BJG handicap of 10, he is going to have to play better than that. Jake shoots a 49 along with Rey, who must have gained some control over his driver, and Dave is back under 50.

Harry (Rookie) continues to play well and is making a case to be "Rookie of the Year".

Joe Willie falls off his pace with a 51 to finish the back with Steve and Adam.

Juan (Rookie) finally shows the world that he really can play golf and that we don't need to fix his handicap.

Dan and Rock have a rough back nine with scores of 8s, 9s, a 10 & an 11.

Joe, missed the Pretenders because it took him 9 days to replace his roof (and it shows....)

ree

It would have taken a few more days if it hadn’t been for Chris and Matt coming to the rescue at the peril of their own BJG standings.

ree

Jon also missed this event because he was house hunting.

Does anyone know what happened to Nic? Here is photo in case you forgot what he looks like..

The Pretenders is almost a Major and is worth a total of 306 Race to Big Y (Dubai) points. Instead of dividing those points by 17, they are only divided by 12 which means more points for those golfers that played.

2nd – Joe Willie – 35

3rd – Harry – 33

4th – Rey – 31

5th – Jake – 29

13th – Dan – 40

14th – Chris – 33.5

15th – Jon – 20

16th – Matt – 14

17th – Nic - 8

Things are getting tighter and you can see some groupings like the battle for 1st and 2nd, 3rd through 5th, 6th through 11th, and 12th through 14th.

You will all get another chance at some big points (459) on June 28th when we play our 2nd Major, “The Fathers & Uncles Invitational” at Agawam Municipal Golf Course.

Can Joe Willie and Bryan hold on to the top two spots? Who will make a big move? Will we ever hear from Nic again? Only time will time….

Respectfully,
