Unlike the PGA’s first round where the top group moves to the 2nd round, we at BJG will be seeded, and you will need to WIN to move on. Lose, and you will be heading to the Legend of Tomorrow / Loser of Today event.
The first round of the BJG Fed Up Cup is the Quilted Northern Paper Championship and will be played at Southampton Country Club on August 27th, 2023.
The seeding is set by the Final Leaderboard from the 2023 BJG Race to Big Y (Dubai).
1st Place: Cody – 197 Points
2nd Place: Adam – 163.5 Points *
2nd Place: Jason – 163.5 Points
4th Place: EJ – 141 Points
5th Place: Dustin – 117.5 Points
6th Place: Joe – 116.5 Points
7th Place: Joe T – 88 Points
8th Place: Cam – 57 Points
MATCHUPS:
Number 1 seed: Cody (10) vs Number 8 seed: Cam (14)
This is truly a David and Goliath match-up. Cody is our 2023 Race to Big Y champion and our number-one handicap golfer.
Cam, on the other hand, has been at the bottom of the leaderboard all year long, and he missed 4 out of 9 regular-season golf events. If it wasn't for Alex's twins, Cam would have a few more weeks off.
Cody has a season average of just 2 over par, while Cam is averaging 14 over par for the year.
Number 2 seed: Adam (31) vs Number 7 seed: Joe T (25)
Adam has been Mr. Consistent AND Mr. Committed for most of the 2023 season. Adam has been running mostly in 2nd place through the regular season, that is, until the BJG Championship, where Jason tied Adam for 2nd place. With the help of the John Daley coin and the Golf Gods, Adam stays in the 2nd spot.

Adam had been playing good golf most of the year, but the long stint working at the Travels Championship may have put him off his game. Adam has been playing, on average, 4 strokes over par.
Joe T has had a little bit of a rough year, and he is averaging 8 strokes over par.
Number 3 seed: Jason (18) vs Number 6 seed: Joe (24)
This is a rematch of last year’s first round where Jason won by 2 strokes. Jason has been playing great golf over the last 3 rounds, while Joe has not had the same kind of success that he had in 2022.
Jason is averaging just 1 stroke over par, and Joe is averaging 5 strokes over par.
Jason is just hitting his stride, while Joe is just hitting old age.
Number 4 seed: EJ (36) vs Number 5 seed: Dustin (36)
This is the battle of the 36 Handicaps. Dustin has won a trophy this year, and he did take a couple of weeks off. Of the 7 remaining weeks, Dustin has beaten EJ 3 times, and EJ has defeated Dustin 4 times.
EJ is averaging 6 strokes over par, while Dustin is averaging 11 strokes over par.
Of course, this means that there will be a 36 handicap in the 2nd round.

Remember, winners move on to the 2nd round, and the losers go to the Legends of Tomorrow / Losers of Today.
Bring your best game, and don’t leave any ties to the John Daily coin and the Golf Gods.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
